Transcendant Man

I just read about this film that is currently being shown at the Tribeca Film festival. It is film about Raymond Kurzweil and humanity’s journey to becoming non-biological life.

The 3 minute trailer has plenty of Terminator-esque moments. But the story of the individual himself looks just as interesting. The film ranges from topics such as Kurzweil’s quest to become immortal and bring his father back from the dead to the proposal of merging humans with machines to be able to keep up with the frantic pace at which technology is developing. The film looks both terribly fascinating and incredibly scary at the same time.

I missed out on the opening night and the Q&A session with the filmmakers, but The Singularity Hub has a great review of the film and the discussion that followed.
